Petra Brouwer has been appointed as a member of Amsterdam's Commissie Ruimtelijke Kwaliteit (Commission for Spatial Quality).

The commission advises the Amsterdam city council (city boroughs and central city) on the quality of spatial developments. This includes the transformation of existing buildings, including many monuments and buildings with historical value, and new urban and architectural developments in the city, including plans for public space. In addition, as one of the architectural history members, she serves in the separate advisory committee ‘Commissie Aanwijzing Monumenten’ on the designation of buildings and objects on the national and/or municipal monument register.
